HAUPPAUGE 8U WINS CHAMPIONSHIP 15-10
After defeating Smithtown 12-0 in the Semi-Finals, the Hauppauge Eagles 8U Travel Team won the Championship with a 15-10 victory over Plainedge on August 8. Hauppauge jumped ahead 3 runs to set the tone in the top of the first and never looked back. Both teams split their season series and tied for first during the regular season with 8-2-1 records. But the Championship Game was dominated by the Eagles.
"We couldn't be any more proud of these kids," said Coach Don Boller. "They won the July 4th Tournament with only two games under their belts and then to show so much composure in the Championship Game was something special. They deserved this championship, every single one of them. We are purposely not naming any player because it was a true team effort in every sense of the word."
